Here on purpose

I love strength training.

I love building community through strength training.

I love challenging our deepest fears and our most ingrained misconceptions in a gentle, loving, and safe atmosphere. My dream is to create a strength training community where people of every size, background, identity, ethnicity, and orientation can come together to work, play, and rest.

I have coached in various settings and have come to the point where I know the next step is my own facility. And I need help building that.

My vision is of a creative community space. I will bring strength training and mobility, someone else will bring yoga, someone else will bring dance and music, and others' will bring healing in non-traditional modalities (I'm envisioning sound healing, TRE, reiki, etc.). There is no limit to what we can do.

I think of myself as an accidental athlete. I never played team sports, or even really participated in PE. I started my fitness journey in 2012 in the hot tub at Matt Dishman Community Center in Portland, OR. Not being one to be told what to do I was hesitant to start working with a coach, but with some not-so-gentle coaxing from a friend I made it into the weight room and the right coach found me. Since then lifting weights with friends has been my favorite thing to do.

In 2014 I took the plunge and became a certified personal trainer. After that I has pursued certificates in powerlifting, corrective exercise, mobility, kettlebell training, trauma informed coaching, and embodiment.

I moved to Pittsburgh in 2022 and brought a passion for trauma informed strength coaching, longevity through mobility, and a desire to redefine wellness in my new community.
